Excl. - Originally released in 2001 and now reissued on "a records", Anton Newcombe's own record label , "Bravery, Repetition and Noise" is available again on vinyl. Released on 180 gm Purple vinyl, this reissue is limited to 2,000 copies."Bravery, Repetition and Noise" is a dark dreamy album, rich in atmosphere, layered in waves of sound. The album's antecedents are clear--inspired as much by psychedelia as punk's nihilism, pulling both strands into a doom-laden, experimental sound quite distinct from anything that had come before or since.
This six-song, half-hour record shows the band affecting a more rural, lonesomesoundingtone and a moodier, more deliberate pace; the more traditional feel meshes well with Anton Newcombe's twisting of country-gospel lyrical cliches into rock &roll attitude. The Brian Jonestown Massacre is a psychedelic rock band originally from SanFrancisco, California, led by guitarist/singer Anton Newcombe. With The Dandy Warhols, The Brian Jonestown Massacre is one of the subjects of thedocumentary DIG!, winner of the 2004 Grand Jury Prize Documentary at Sundance. Excl. - Recorded in Liverpool, England and Reykjavik, Iceland, "My Bloody Underground" is the thirteenth full-length album released by The Brian Jonestown Massacre and first for BJM's leader Anton Newcombe’s own record label 'a recordings'. Fans and critics of Brian Jonestown Massacre have eagerly awaited a new album for 4 years now will not be disappointed. From the opening track, "Bring Me The Head Of Paul McCartney On Heather Mill's Wooden Peg (Dropping Bombs On The White House)" and throughout "My Bloody Underground's" 12 tracks and 75 minutes, the listener is taken on a trip that contains stirring visions of sunny Californian communes all the way to New York City bars on the Lower East Side. The entire album provides provocative glimpses into Anton Newcombe’s head, both the darkness and the light. Brian Jonestown Massacre has been somewhat of a musical commune for many respected musicians over the years. Bands like Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Warlocks, The Silver Rockets, The Black Angels, The Ravenettes, The Dilettantes, Ride (Mark Gardener appears on "My Bloody Underground") are all part of BJM's musical family tree. Indeed, this is a band that has witnessed many incarnations since its inception in San Francisco in 1995. Two-dozen band members later and numerous "ups and downs" (check out "Dig!" the documentary based on both BJM and The Dandy Warhols), the one thing that has always remained consistent for this psychedelic, cult-like collective, is front man Mr. Anton Alfred Newcombe. Dec. 9 street date. Reissue of this album, originally released on Tee Pee in 2003 - with a bonus EP of 2004's originally limited edition "If Love Is A Drug EP". Since 1995 The Brian Jonestown Massacre has released numerous albums, first for Bomp! Records, the label which gave them their start, and later for TVT and Tee Pee. BJM has been essential in the development of the modern U.S. garage scene, and many LA and SF musicians got their start playing with leader Anton Newcombe, including Peter Hayes of The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Originally Newcombe was heavily influenced by The Rolling Stones' psychedelic phase - the name comes from Stones guitarist Brian Jones combined with a reference to cult leader Jim Jones, but his work in the 2000s has expanded into aesthetic dimensions approximating the UK Shoegazing genre of the 1990s and incorporating influences from world music, especially Middle Eastern and Brazilian music.
Dec. 9 street date. Originally released on Tee Pee in 2004, and now reissued on Anton Newcombe’s own record label. This is the first time BJM have been the subject of a retrospective and is the perfect introduction to the majestic psychedelic pop of Anton Newcombe and co. This 38 track compilation spans the years 1995-2004 featuring key tracks from all their albums as well and live recordings and many unreleased tracks.
May 26 street date. 5 new tracks by the Brian Jonestown Massacre. After an extensive tour of Europe, Australia, New Zealand and New York state in 2008, Anton Newcombe went to Berlin to focus on his next album, which is due out later this year. But before this April's U.S. tour, Anton went to Iceland where this EP was recorded (also along with several new tracks that will be out on the new album). Brian Jonestown Massacre has witnessed many incarnations since its inception in San Francisco in 1995. Two dozen band members later and numerous ups and downs (some have been (in)famously sensationalized in the media), one thing that has always remained consistent for this psychedelic-cultlike collective - front man Mr. Anton Alfred Newcombe.

Feb. 23 street date. THE BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE has been somewhat of a musical commune for many respected musicians over the years, a band from the 1990's that has spurned other great bands ever since. Indeed, this is a band that has witnessed many incarnations, since its inception in San Francisco in 1995. The one thing that has always remained consistent for this psychedelic collective is front man Mr. Anton Alfred Newcombe - a man and artist many are eager to dismiss as obnoxious and unworthy of the attention he receives. Others however, deem him simply as vulnerable in this world he roams and hugely misunderstood whilst doing so. 'Who Killed Sergeant Pepper?' finds Newcombe working with musicans of the likes of Will Carruthers (ex-Spacemen 3 & Spiritualized), Unnur Andrea Einarsdottir (who recorded vocals on the last BJM album), and Felix from the Russian band Amazing Electronic Talking Cave. This is the band's most multi-cultured release to date, while obviously keeping the band's trademark style throughout the album. 13 tracks, ranging from ambient bhangra beats to rock to shoegazing to gypsy influences of Eastern Europe music, and then back again to the subliminal - all twinged with the psychedelia of the band. Double vinyl edition is pressed on white vinyl with purple splatters.

Feb. 9 street date. Originally released in 1996, the Brian Jonestown Massacre's sophomore album does, as promised, spring forth from the Rolling Stones' long-underrated 1967 masterpiece 'Their Satanic Majesties Request', copping not only Mick and Keith's leering bad-boy attitude but also their their rock-and-roll-circus spirit. The record is a kaleidoscopic, drug-fueled freakout - like the Stones' namesake album, 'Second Request' is painted by Eastern drones and psychedelic tangents, each track bubbling with dozens of sound effects including sitars, mellotrons, farfisas, didgeridoos, tablas, congas, and glockenspiels. Travelling through the past, darkly, the Massacre arrives on the other side unscathed; their music is too rich to be merely retro, and too knowing to be merely slavish.
August 18 street date. The definition of melancholia is a mental condition and especially a manic-depressive condition characterized by extreme depression, which was the perfect title for the fourth full length album from instrumental mathrock band, Save Us From The Archon. The record was inspired by Guitarist Andrew Cresto’s personal struggle with depression, but instead of it being a negative, the end result is a “love letter to depression”. Every detail was well thought out and every note, lick, slide and grove that you’ll hear is preciously where Cresto envisioned it when writing the new songs. The track listing itself is included as the titles put together create phrases that perfectly convey the recurring theme of depression, ‘All I want is sleep within walls thread between trancing nostalgia. All I want is light of forgiveness until we unfold to find clarity lost in a reverie. All I want is endless.’ Musically, the growth Save Us From The Archon has made since their last release is evident, however they continue with the melodic guitars, intense drum patterns and strong bass lines that fans fell in love with. Listeners will experience the emotion behind each song and that’s exactly what the band strove for during the creation of this album.
Feb. 9 street date. Originally released in 1997, now reissued with new artwork. 'Give It Back!' is often similar in spirit to Nikki Sudden or early-'70s Stones.
Feb. 9 street date. Originally released in 1996, 'Thank God for Mental Illness' was BJM's third collection of absolutely stunning music from that year. 'Thank God' is the BJM's down-and-dirty country-blues outing, all 13-odd tracks supposedly recorded on a single July day at a cost of just $17.36.
Feb. 9 street date. Reissue of 'Methodrone', the debut album from the Brian Jonestown Massacre, originally released in 1995. Redolent with the spirit of such high priests of effects and delay as Loop, Spaceman 3, and My Bloody Valentine, not to mention a fair dollop of the Jesus and Mary Chain, 'Methodrone' clearly is the sum of its influences.
Feb. 9 street date. Originally released in 2000. This is somewhat of a departure from what BJM shaman and group leader Anton Newcombe had previously written and recorded with a revolving-door membership of sidemen (and women). The six songs collected here were reportedly set aside for the band's long-awaited follow-up to 1998's 'Strung Out in Heaven', but they were reportedly rejected by TVT Records.

May 15 street date. A brand new album by the BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE, recorded in Berlin in Anton Newcombe's studio and the infamous East German Radio Station "Studio East". Available now. "Forget the nutty name that sounds like it should be the monicker of a hardcore band, Brian Jonestown Massacre play brilliant 60’s inspired psychedlic pop. Their influences run the gamut of ‘60s beat: The Rolling Stones, The Animals, The Small Faces, The Kinks, and The Byrds. BJM has managed to make retro pop sound contemporary in the Zombies and Kinks-like 'Jennifer' and the Animals influenced tracks 'Got My Eyes On You' and 'Nothing To Lose'. 'Love' sounds like it could have been a shoegazing classic. Many American bands mining the ‘60s for influences leave out the vital component, R&B, that gave ‘60s bands their great resonance - BJM doesn’t. This record’s got soul and sounds like a sure-fire bet for a spot on the end-of-year best lists." - Popmatters 8/10
