September 13 street date. The Distillers major label debut Coral Fang is the most remarkable album they recorded to date. It is raw and effective with Bordy Dalle’s screaming vocal work and the catchy guitar driven rock ‘n’ roll. The album is filled with highlights focusing on her ex-husband and the internet. Poetic lyrics and trashing guitars melting together on album opener “Drain the Blood”, while the start/stop build “The Hunger” is just pure adrenaline at its best. Bordy has a depth and subtlety in her voice that only a few female punk vocalists had. Coral Fang rocks hard and was a refreshing record in the changing landscape of the early zero’s. Coral Fang is available as a limited edition of 2000 numbered copies on transparent 180 gram vinyl. The package includes an insert.
Please note new street date: December 11. To call The Distillers simply a punk band doesn't do justice to either the band or the word "punk". Guitarist, lyricist, and vocalist Brody Dalle uses her medium as a platform for a higher plane of visceral lyricism and independence. Few modern day punk icons have not only embodied the genre so truthfully but also transformed the depth of what it can mean so thoroughly. Recorded in 2000, their self-titled album is a throwback to the raw, in-your-face aggression reminiscent of late 1970s/early 1980s punk. In celebration of the 20th anniversary, "The Distillers" has been remastered and will available on coloured vinyl for the first time. The band are currently in the studio working on a new album expected out in 2020.
June 24 street date. New coloured vinyl pressing to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Distillers' iconic album! Improving on their very fine, self-titled debut album, "Sing Sing Death House" is battle-scarred and resolute, but Brody's tough voice is more expressive than your average punker's and especially affecting when she flaunts the full range of her throaty snarl. On "Seneca Falls", an appreciation of the women's suffrage movement set to chugging guitars and a thumpity-thump bass, there's an exceptional, goosebump-inducing though unintelligible chorus, which soars above the music because of the emotional quality of Brody's howl. Otherwise, the music is quite stirring, coming from a gang of gutter-punks with lip piercings.
Large Hole Colour Vinyl Exclusive 7” side by side includes each band’s take on The Distiller’s unapologetic, guitar-driven track, “Dismantle Me,” off their final studio album, Coral Fang.
