August 18 street date. This is the second album by Turkish ethno psych-rockers 3 Hür-El, originally released in 1976 on the Diskötur label. Comprised of three brothers, Onur (bass), Haldun (drums, percussion) and Feridun Hürel (saz-guitar, vocals), they were one of the very few, if not the only, Turkish groups at the time not doing any covers, but only self-penned compositions. 'Hürel Arsivi' is an absolute killer of an album and easily one of the top Turkish psych records ever released. It has a more
Western feel, with brother Feridun here infected by a fuzz-virus and his own two arm guitar (one for guitar, one for saz). Also there's much more heavy drums than percussion, in an astounding blend of psychedelic rock and traditional Turkish instrumentation, and of course, plenty of distorted fuzz guitar and electric saz.

"Abrams' work here is about pushing against accepted precepts of melody and rhythm, freeing the bass from its accepted role, and allowing it to scream for real." --Byron Coley, 2018

July 8 street date. ARTHUR ALEXANDER Jr. was perhaps the catalytic figure in the birth of Muscle Shoals as an important musical hotbed, ‘You Better Move On’ being the first national hit recorded at Rick Hall’s legendary Fame Studios, in late 1961.
? A profound influence on the early 60s Beat Boom/British Invasion, Alexander’s songs have been recorded by artists like The Beatles (who recorded three of his songs), The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ike & Tina Turner, Dusty Springfield, Ry Cooder, Robert Plant, The Searchers, Johnny Kidd & The Pirates, Dave Edmunds, Johnny Rivers, etc. This compilation includes all his early recordings for the Dot label in 1961-62, notably ‘You Better Move On’, ‘A Shot Of Rhythm And Blues’, ‘Where Have You Been’, ‘Soldier Of Love’, ‘Anna (Go To Him)’, ‘Go Home Girl’, and the stereo version of his LP, You Better Move On. Also included is his unfeasibly rare debut single, ‘Sally Sue Brown’/‘The Girl That Radiates That Charm’, on which he was billed as ‘June Alexander’ (‘June’ being an abbreviation of ‘Junior’). Alexander died unexpectedly in 1993 on the verge of a major comeback, at the age of just fifty-three, which led to a massive revival of interest in his early recordings.
March 5 street date. Arthur Alexander's mid-60s releases for Monument and Sound Stage 7 under the supervision of Fred Foster in Nashville failed to register on the charts but are highly regarded, none more so than these sides cut on his first session for the company. The released tracks from the session, ‘(Baby) For You’ and ‘The Other Woman (In My Life)’, were more country-sounding. These two wonderful soul songs remained in the vaults until an Ace CD in 2001 and have picked up admirers ever since. To own them on vinyl will be a vintage soul lover's thrill.
April 14 street date. Annot Rhül is the studio project of Sigurd Tonna. The music is inspired by music from the 60s to nowadays. Annot Rhül likes music that serves as vessels to transport the listener to other places, in inner and outer space. Available on CD or limited edition white vinyl + poster + booklet.
May 27 street date. Golden Stream is second album of the 24-year-old artist Rosa Anschütz, who lives in Vienna and Berlin. Rosa Anschütz follows the traditions of dark wave and post punk, but carves deep notches of sound sculpture and romantic smoothness. Goldener Strom is a great pop album, full of melodies, aphorisms, and beats that immediately catch your ear. At the same time, it is a manifesto of artistic sovereignty, precious and wise. Includes lyrics sheet.
September 30 street date. Golden Stream is second album from Rosa Anschütz, the 24-year-old artist, who lives in Vienna and Berlin. It can be danced to, but one can also listen to it as a conceptual album; it is as full of beats as it is full of thoughts. Goldener Strom is a great pop album, full of melodies, aphorisms and beats that immediately catch your ear.
January 29 street date. What began two years ago as informal jam sessions for ARIEL PINK, NEIL SCHUH and CROOKED COWBOY evolved into a collaborative recording project with one rule to each session: no one was allowed to say no to an idea. Using whatever they could get their hands on to record, they finally went into the studio, and within three sessions the birth of "Cloak & Dagger" emerged. The Los Angeles trio's satisfaction with the single led them to ask friend, AARON FRANKEL, to remix the track for the B-side. 2012 brought on difficulties for the group when Crooked Cowboy suffered a massive heart attack, delaying the trio's release. At last, "Cloak & Dagger" is released on LA's Origami Vinyl. The 7" is limited to a onetime pressing of 500 copies on transparent orange vinyl.
May 10 street date. Woof Woof has existed somewhere for a long time, throbbing underneath the surface and masquerading as anything other than the pure energy it is, waiting to be extracted and molded into a form that can be consumed by everyone. With Woof Woof, Arthur beams pure-pop-liminality straight into the world, full of contradictions and twists, confusion and magic. This is an album that thrives in the in-betweens it creates then slips itself into. Decisions that may seem off-kilter or strange to other artists seem effortless to Arthur, pulled from another world, a world hidden to the average listener, hidden maybe for good reason. Woof Woof leaves you wondering from what dimension Arthur crossed over and how you can get there as soon as possible. There is a valley between sound and music that Woof Woof fills in with objects seemingly grabbed at random, from voicemails to dog barks, an uneasy path is created to bridge the divide. There is a maze in Arthur's debut LP and he doesn't care if you make it out in one piece.
Parution le 18 octobre. "Baba love".
