Hailing from Long Island, NY, they have been playing rock music since they were old enough to walk and talk, mastering every instrument they could get their hands on and writing and performing everything together (they alternate writing credits and instruments on Do Hollywood). Recorded in Los Angeles, CA, with production by Jonathan Rado of Foxygen, they mine inspiration from every era of rock, crafting richly sophisticated baroque-pop songs into a ten-track tour de force. September 29 street date. The Lemon Twigs have announced Brothers of Destruction, a six-track EP of previously unreleased material. Brothers of Destruction was written and recorded by the D’Addario brothers –Brian (20) and Michael (18) –on their 8-track at home in New York during Spring 2015, not long after recording their debut album, Do Hollywood. The half dozen songs, most of which already feature in The Lemon Twigs’ searing live shows, are available as a US import 12” vinyl. Once or twice every generation, Long Island introduces the world to artists of such singular originality that they change the very nature of their art: Lou Reed; Jim Brown; Robert Mapplethorpe; Andy Kaufman. With their debut album on 4AD, Do Hollywood, The Lemon Twigs have earned themselves a spot on that list. Fusing tightly constructed pop, sophisticated orchestration, and British invasion melodies into a ten-song masterpiece, the D’Addario brothers whipped fans and critics alike into an utter frenzy. A conceptual musical conceived by brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario, the 15-track opus was written, recorded, produced and mixed by the pair at their home in Long Island. Go To School tells the heartbreaking coming of age story of Shane, a pure of heart chimpanzee raised as a human boy as he comes to terms with the obstacles of life. Todd Rundgren and their real life mother Susan Hall play Shane’s parents. The album features contributions from Jody Stephens (Big Star), Natalie Mering (Weyes Blood) and their father Ronnie D’Addario. With the album announcement, The Lemon Twigs reveal 'If You Give Enough', the soaring album closer. The Lemon Twigs emerged in 2016 with their debut release Do Hollywood, which was praised by Rolling Stone for “toting hooky songs that stand out for their intricate arrangements and delectable melodies” and NPR Music who mused, “Like listening to music from a time that never was...a baroque rock romp.” The band quickly earned fans in Elton John, Questlove, and Jack Antonoff among many others, the latter of whom said, “Prediction: The Lemon Twigs will usher in a new phase of rock.”
