September 9 street date. "El Pintor" is Interpol’s fifth and most exhilarating studio album. It’s a driving, relentless record, taut and epic in equal measure. The album, recorded as a three-piece with frontman & guitarist Paul Banks picking up the bass, kicks off
with "All The Rage Back Home," signalling a return to what Interpol does best, layering pulsing bass, bursts of guitar, and driving drums beneath Banks’ instantly recognizable voice. Meanwhile, "My Desire" features a throbbing beat and insistent guitar riffs that shoot off like flares into the night, while on "Same Town, New Story" Banks crafted up an unexpected melodic context for Daniel Kessler’s laser-sharp guitar lines. In contrast with previous records, Interpol took a step back on "El Pintor" and let the songs happen. What emerged is something urgent and compelling, something revitalized and reenergized. The result is as accomplished and thrilling a collection as the band has ever released. "'El Pintor' is perhaps their best effort since 2004's Antics." - Rolling Stone. "The masters of emotional turbulence." - Q Magazine.

June 10 street date. Solomun reveals his latest remix for popular NYC rock band Interpol. Taken from Interpol's latest album El Pintor, "Everything Is Wrong" has been given a dancefloor-ready makeover from Solomun. His remix preserves the gritty guitar line, adding a subtle but deep bassline and echoed percussion. The vocals are slightly tweaked, their electronic twang reminiscent of '80s bands. As Solomon's strings slowly grow throughout the track. Solomun's remix of "Everything Is Wrong" preserves the mood and melody of the original, yet is a clearly recognizable production of his own.

From the beguiling refrain of the title track, to the soulful topsy-turvy of ‘No Big Deal’, cathartic chorus of long sought-after live favourite ‘Real Life’, anthemic swell of ‘The Weekend’, and angular shades of ‘Thrones’, A Fine Mess is a bracing and distinct entry in Interpol’s oeuvre.
July 15 street date. Interpol's 7th LP "The Other Side of Make-Believe" breaks fresh ground for the group: parallel to exploring the sinister undercurrents of contemporary life, their new songs are imbued with pastoral longing and newfound grace. Daniel Kessler's serpentine guitar arrangements crest skywards, Samuel Fogarino shatters his percussive precision into strange metres, while Paul Banks' sonorous voice exudes a vulnerability that is likely to catch most long-term fans of the band off guard. After all, says Banks, "there's always a seventh time for a first impression". On "The Other Side of Make-Believe", the band's deep interpersonal understanding means each member respects the other's respective strengths more than ever, letting Interpol's elemental qualities shine through. Ever the paradox, they have weathered nearly seven albums' and several line-ups' better than anyone might have predicted, never letting their sense of purpose or dedication escape. A quarter-century into their lifespan, Interpol are all fired up again.
