February 8 street date. The Lemonheads’ first record in 10 years! Covers album – Includes versions of Nick Cave, Yo La Tengo, The Bevis Frond, Eagles and more. Extensive world tour over the 12 months, including Europe, USA and Asia. “The Lemonheads are no strangers to a cover, the grunge-pop heroes perfect the art.” NME The Lemonheads follow up the critically acclaimed ‘Varshons’ from nearly ten years ago with another eclectic collection of covers. Produced by director Matthew Cullen and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Beastie Boys, Nirvana, The Ramones), their tenth studio album brims with the slowly-matured vocal of Evan Dando as he lures a host of personal faves to his melodic lair. He really has become one of the great expressive singers of our time. What they said about Varshons: “Gram Parsons, Wire, and GG Allin: You'd be hard pressed to find three more disparate rock acts, yet on ‘Varshons’ they all sound like the Lemonheads - boppy, overcast alt-rock delivered at a fast clip and sung in a whiskey tenor.” Pitchfork. ‘Varshons 2’ is a hokey jukebox filled with unique versions of Yo La Tengo, Nick Cave, The Bevis Frond, NRBQ, The Eagles, Paul Westerberg, The Jayhawks, Lucinda Williams and John Prine. Like Hank Williams slumped in his car between gigs, strumming and hollering, reasoning and weeping, humming it on over, Evan and his Lemonheads make every tune their own. Including some obscure beauties like Florida Georgia Line’s ‘Round Here’, Natural Child’s ‘Now And Then’, The Eyes’ raucous ‘TAQN’ and The GiveGoods’ gorgeous ‘Unfamiliar’ – a tune Dando penned with former Smudge man Tom Morgan. Both LPs include downloads.

Pitchfork - 8.4. The Lemonheads’ breakthrough 1992 Atlantic album reissued in a special 2-disc, CD+DVD collector's edition. . Critical and fan acclaim surged for this album, which centered on lead singer/songwriter Evan Dando’s melodic, left-of-center alt-rock artistry. His warm, resonant vocals and brilliant pop sensibilities often belied insurgent lyrics, a quality that runs throughout the title track and the album’s other stand-outs, including My Drug Buddy, Allison’s Starting To Happen, Confetti, and the band’s
hit, punk-skewed cover of Mrs. Robinson. On this new edition, the original album plus ten bonus tracks (mostly demos) comprise Disc 1. The DVD features 45 minutes of content including videos and commentary from Dando.
Jan. 17 street date. The Lemonheads will release 'Hotel Sessions', an intimate recording documenting a Sunday night that Evan Dando spent recording new songs with just an acoustic guitar (and some revealing commentary) in a hotel room in Bondi Beach, Australia. The 14 songs include some that never made it to an official Lemonheads album, but Dando says, "the "Into Your Arms" I did here is better than the one on the album (I like it anyway)".
November 20 street date. With the announcement of a new, grittier, Lemonheads album on the horizon, Fire Records will be reissuing the band's first three albums Hate Your Friends (1987), Creator (1988) and Lick (1989), which showcase the band's early punk rock roots. Firstly though, Fire Records will release a limited edition 7" single featuring the original Lick version of 'Mallo Cup' as well as a live radio version, which was recorded for VPRO in Holland, which featured on a later version of Creator. Fans are rejoicing over the news that Evan Dando will be reuniting with original co-songwriter Ben Deily for the new album, which will doubtless see a return to a rawer, more noisy sound and sees Ryan Adams on production duties.
December 3 street date. Fronted by Evan Dando, Lemonheads made three well-regarded and increasingly successful albums for US indie label Taang! between 1987 and 1989. Issued in 1990, fourth album 'Lovey' (1990) was the band’s first for major label Atlantic, marking their transition to the big time with the next album 'It’s A Shame About Ray'. This deluxe expanded casebound book edition now features all of the 'Favorite Spanish Dishes' EP (the UK and US tracklistings) as well as two more singles sides, while the book features the lyrics and a note by Terry Staunton.
December 3 street date. Preceded by its hit single 'If I Could Talk I’d Tell You', 'Car Button Cloth' (1996) followed the huge success of the two previous albums, charting at # 28 in the UK. This deluxe 2 CD expanded casebound book reissue now features the single remix as well as fourteen b-sides, including covers of songs from Whitney Houston, Metallica, REO Speedwagon, Glen Campbell and Oasis, as well as the lyrics and a note by Terry Staunton.
