Alien8 recordings is celebrating its thirteenth year in 2009 and continues to release an eclectic mixture of music from Canada and around the world, paying special attention to the music community of its hometown of Montreal. The label began in the mid 90s documenting noise and experimental music with releases by Merzbow, Keiji Haino, Masonna, Francisco López and Acid Mothers Temple. Over time the label's taste has broadened to include Montreal artists working in numerous other genres such as The Unicorns, Set Fire to Flames, Duchess Says, Think About Life, Tim Hecker and many others. At age thirteen the label is moving forward and continuing to bring the best of Montreal and beyond to its loyal following and new listeners alike.
